Last week was a whirlwind! I had so many new and fun experiences in seven days its hard to narrow it down to my favorite parts....here are some highlights.
I had the amazing opportunity to sit in on a symphony rehearsal. Since I know absolutely nothing about classical music I didn't really know what to expect. Besides the slight mishap of taking a wrong turn and almost walking on stage (which I think is frowned upon), I must say I enjoyed it immensely. It was incredibly fun to watch my new conductor friend shape the music, make changes, and do what so few people in the world can. What an honor to be able to take a peak into another world.
My dear friends Case and Toni escorted me to my first Symphony....Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. I found it really interesting how different the music sounded when there were people in the audience, or meat in the seats as my friend put it.
I took Case and J to get tattoos from my guy Eric at Goldrush Tattoo. Case got the Tristan chord which he says is the E=MC2 of music. J got a replica of the artist Paul Klee's X-Chen, a piece of art that he had always been drawn to.
The Beachcomber in Crystal Cove. How is it that I've lived in Southern California my whole life and didnt know about this beautiful little place? The Brit and the Cowboy showed me the way. That day was literally one of the most relaxing I can remember.
the beautiful and hilarious Toni
happiness.
This picture is SO Case.
Beachcomber Tunnel. I want this blown up and put in my next apartment...I just love it so much.
I also had some really good food this week. My new favorite breakfast choice al la Toni...Eggs and Soldiers.
I'm not joking when I say this. J made the best lasagna I've ever tasted in my life. He slaved away all day in the kitchen to bring us this unbelievable meal. It tasted that much sweeter because Toni and I had a huge event at work that day, and got to come home to a feast. Thanks again J...food is my favorite kind of art and you are definitely an artist.
I could add twenty more highlights but I'm exhausted from salsa dancing last night (which will probably be my next blog) and some memories are fun to keep to yourself. I'll leave you with a fun pic of J learning Mr. Big's "To Be With You".....which I should mention is the best song ever. EVER.
